Sitting in this hospital room while my sweet Lil Miss M recovers lead me to reading her some fairytales from a book she has dragged along with her.
Of course to know Miss M is to know she probably has secret aspirations of being a princess one day. (this idea was seaded by her Uncle Queen D whom suggested if Mary from Tassie can find herself a Prince than there is hope for Miss M). So there was no skipping over any of the stories about princesses in her morphine induced delirium.
So with all enthusiasm I ask, ‘would you like me to read you the Princess and the Pea sweetheart?’.
‘Yes Mummy it is my favourite’ came the reply.
Hmmmm….is this where all the Madam Moments have stemmed from?
A little fairy tale about a girl that had a terrible nights sleep because of a freakin pea hidden under 20 mattresses beneath her. Surely not.
On reflection, I seriously have to consider if this innocent little fairytale isn’t the root of all evil to us Mummy’s dealing with little Princesses at home.
BUT, as I sit here and watch my beautiful little Princess sleep through her recovery, I do look forward to seeing her in full throttle of a Madam Moment again very soon.
Because at the end of the day I do want her to demand the best life has to offer and never settle for second best. I just want her to be nice about it
