Getting Ready For Back To School.

26 January, 2015
back to school

Are you looking forward to sending the children back to school? I know many mums and dads who prefer the holidays over the school terms. Purely for the fact that there is less to get organised, no lunches to pack, notes to read (and remember) or school drop off to try and get to on time! Having said that, I think by about week 5 or 6 of the Christmas school holiday period, they are secretly in agreement with most…

Organised shmorganised! So it is the 25 of January and who here has fallen off that ‘be more organised in 2015’ resolution? Well, I didn’t do resolutions for this year. I just had a vision how I wanted life to be. It has already gone a little to pot. The only thing that I am organised in is writing every single thing down that I need to remember, seeing my memory has been something that hasn’t been the awesome thing…

How To Make Perfect Eggs – With Wiltshire Poachies [Gifted]

27 November, 2014
poached eggs

If there is one thing Mr MMM absolutely rocks at in the kitchen … it is poached eggs.  I am not so flash with making them, but he on the other hand, I can report is an expert. How he does this I do not know.  So I don’t tend to cook breakfasts .. he does.  . I find I over cook poached eggs and make a hell of a mess.  So when the lovely people at Wiltshire asked me to trial their Poachies,…

So my top pick for families and caregivers with children to help ensure a pleasant summer this year: Keep cool….this means physically and emotionally. I know myself, I hate being so uncomfortably hot that I get cranky, sometimes tired and irrational.   Children are no different. A hot child will be…

The house that runs on survival mode mostly when I am working full-time and running this here blog, gets the going over in what seems like a shiz.  The arduous tasks of cleaning and tidying seems less like a chore when there is 10 arms throwing their weight around to have everything sparkling in the hours prior to the grand arrival. If yours is anything like mine, it takes little time between cleans for it to end up all mucky again.  Kitchen sprays don’t make the job any easier either.  The food spills are normally cooked on and not about to leave easily. There is a great way to have your microwave sparkling again though.  All you need is a bowl of water and a sliced lemon. Too easy you say?…

In fact I think the 2.5 serves of sticky date pudding I consumed 15 minutes before passing out for about 10 hours is still keeping the food baby well nourished. NOTE TO SELF : Do not feel compelled to wolf down the children’s left over desserts after you have already wolfed down your own. A reminder will be for…

It was the Australia Day long weekend actually.   My in laws who we were staying with were (as always) extremely over prepared for our arrival.  Right down to what flavour ice blocks the kids would be having at the 4pm happy hour that takes place each day. We bought this little old house about 3.5 years ago now. We had big plans for it. Then I fell pregnant and spent a large amount of time hanging out over the toilet bowl. Possibly due to the fact I willingly flogged myself during the 2011 floods, helping out in my workplace wherever I could I ended up having to start maternity leave early or fear having a prem baby. So our big plans for the house ceased as we…
