Coconut Coffee Face & Body Scrub – Amazing Life Hack

27 January, 2014
Coconut Coffee Scrub

I have been using this scrub on my face and body for a week now and cannot believe I was able to make something so fabulous from my kitchen with little effort.

I have very sensitive skin and often cleansers and moisturisers (even those specifically for sensitive skin) make my skin red and flourished.  To be completely honest I was a little apprehensive that the coconut oil of this scrub would make me break out, so decided I would only try it for 3 days. If there were any adverse side effects I would throw my concoction out.

I used the scrub each morning in the shower, massaging it in for a couple of minutes and then removing it with a face washer.

In the evenings I just used the coconut oil alone with a face washer to remove my make up.  It worked beautifully.  The coconut oil removed the make up and left my skin feeling clean and clear but not dry like some cleansers can.

Here is how to make you own Coffee Coconut Scrub.

Ingredients

3 Cups of Organic Coconut Oil (ensure it is liquid and not solidified)

1.5 Cups of Organic Ground Coffee

1 Empty Plastic Sauce Container (I found mine at the cheap store)

Method

1. Mix coffee and coconut oil together in a bowl ensuring there is no lumps.

2. Pour mixture into glass jars or a plastic sauce container.

Tip : I have found the sauce container much better for dispensing in the shower and also eliminates the worry of accidentally dropping a glass bottle and breaking it.

Wow, is it really that easy? I have very sensitive skin as well. Suffer from redness and very dry if I use the wrong product. Many a time I have been caught out with the ‘sensitive’ label on the product only to have a reaction. Willing to give this a try for sure. Coconut is meant to be great for people who suffer with Eczema and sensitive skin.

I have used coconut oil for Lil D’s dry patches and it works really well. I have also been rubbing it into the sunspot I had removed a couple of weeks ago and it is healing well. Good stuff!

I haven’t tried the coconut oil in my hair yet. I think it might be too oily for my fine mop. How do you find it?
