How To Stop Kids Losing Their IPods

18 November, 2013

Do you have any ideas on how to stop this here iPod going missing OVER and OVER and OVER again?

If you do, I need to hear them.

Yesterday, while I was searching for a missing pair of red polka for speedos I found the missing iPod. This iPod was last seen about 48hrs after it was last found (it was 6 weeks gone last time).

I don’t believe the BS that aliens take it. I don’t believe that her little Brother takes it and hides it. Mind you I did confiscate it once and then forgot where I put it…

I don’t want to take it away forever. She loves it and I love seeing her dancing to her favourite music. I just need her to be more responsible!

I haven’t yet handed the iPod back over yet, because I want to hear from you.

I know you are a savvy bunch. I know you are always striving for better parenting.

How do you stop your kids losing expensive little objects like this?

Find my phone on icloud is great, but doesnt work if the item has gone flat (like our ipod that has been missing for over a week)! I keep seeing the i-tile advertised, apparently it is like a sticky dot that can be placed on any item and works on a similar basis, but it still works even if the items battery is flat as it has its own battery. But it wont be released for quite a few months and at almost $20 per item per year, that is going to very quickly add up to big bucks! But it is certainly the bane of my existence, trying to work out who last had which particular item and where they would have hidden it so their brothers (and me!) couldnt find it.

Oh Belinda, I have seen that ad for the little i-tile so much and wish they would incorporate it into a ipod case…it sounds like we all have the same problems! I have started confiscating it for 24hrs if I see it laying around anywhere but on her bedside table (unless she is using it). Fingers crossed we may get on
    top of it.
