Perfect Day For A Bake Off

Today was a rainy day in my parts. Also a little cooler than normal for this time of year made it perfect baking weather. After an early mishap at the local Donut King with a grumpy old lady that didn’t appreciate Lil D’s enthusiasm and politely told me so, I got my BAKE ON. (well that was only after I growled and carried on a bit and was told in no uncertain terms by Queen D to choose my mood and not to let her get at me)

The main reason I wanted to get in and do some cooking was to avoid the exhaustion and disorganisation that was last week. So my plan was to return to my old tricks of baking and freezing snack sized amounts that are easy to grab out and pack a school lunch. I learn’t this trick from a lovely lady I work with who once worked full time with three little ones and never once resorted to repacked foods for lunches. Every Sunday she baked, made freezable sandwiches and chopped up all the veges required for dinners for the week. I am not quiet that organised. But maybe one day?

So for about four hours I made the following :-

Mayonaise (Thermomix style)


Mini Quiches

Banana Bread

Date Loaf

Once all complete and packaged up for the freezer the Bake Off didn’t look so huge after all. But it was let me tell you. Anyway this darn fool picked up an extra shift tomorrow to help her boss out so she had better be off to beddie byes. Enjoy your Sunday lovelies.
