This week has been somewhat of a challenge around these parts.  I had a rotten head cold (which may or may not have been exacerbated by a wild 30th Birthday Party last weekend) and I had to attend a funeral of a family member who loved on his Wife so much, it broke my heart to see her tears.

HOWEVER like any terrible time, there was goodness in the week to which I have shared here.

By chance, if you didn’t have much goodness this week, please enjoy this post and enter the giveaway.  You may just win!!

A beautiful reason to buy a children’s book this Mother’s Day to share with your amazing gang.  I reviewed it here.

Mother’s Day Giveaway !!

If there is one thing I do when I travel home from Brisbane, it’s to stop in at a Krispy Kreme’s to purchase a box of donuts.  Yes I said box.  Not a donut.  A box. A dozen to be precise. What isn’t consumed on the 2.5 hour drive home is then inhaled consumed within 24 hours of purchase.

Krispy Kreme knows mums are the real super heroes of the family.

That’s why Australia’s favourite doughnut brand and creator of the World Famous Original Gazed sweet treat want to offer a lucky mum the ultimate indulgence package to really help her kick back and relax this Mother’s Day.

Not only is there a voucher for a dozen oh-so delicious mouth-watering Krispy Kreme treats, the ultimate indulgence pack also includes all the right pampering ingredients for a perfect night in.

oh, that teacup would get so much instalove if it joined me here! If I won, I’d have to add everything to the mum’s-going-to-a-conference pile. It would be hard not to use anything in the kid-free craft room, but a hotel room would be the best use of the indulgence.

Is it wrong that I’m more jealous of the plate than the food at Cassis?

Hahaha! The thought and styling that has gone into this restaurant is an absolute credit to the owners.

Oh they all sound lovely , I’ve been neglecting my me time lately . Which would explain why I’m always so crabby lol . I’d have a beauty day & use those lovely Lush products , while using the yummy candle to help with the atmosphere ( so it feels like I’m at the beauticians) & then end the relaxing day with a cup of tea in my new cup & saucer lounging around in my new Soho Waffle Dressing Robe & scoffing all the Krispy Kreme’s . Then after doing all that I’ll need a nana nap so will pop on the lipgloss & Doward Sleep Mask & slumber away …all the while hubby is looking after the house , pets & kids . THE END

  • Anessa Hays9 May, 2015 at 3:37 pm

Oh all those products certainly look beautiful! I would wait till everyone (hubby and 4 kiddies) are tucked up in their beds and then I would use/eat every single item at once and completely indulge myself lol!

  • Jade Williams10 May, 2015 at 4:41 am

After hubby promising me he would do the wake ups tonight and snoring through all 4 wake ups and a car driving around beeping the horn at 3am I am seriously considering running away and joining the circus. I might get some time to myself that way 😛

Ooh this package just screams ‘unwind’. I am lucky enough to have a day or sometimes two a week at home alone while the children are at school. I think if I were lucky enough to win this prize I would race around like a lunatic the evening before one of my quiet days and get all the washing/housework/cooking/shopping done and then have a total switch off day. I would make myself a beautiful cup of tea, light the candle (Glasshouse is my fave!) and then run myself a bath…the first in goodness knows how many years (sad but true). I used to do weekly face masks once upon a time, I think I would feel so reinvigorated to treat myself to one again.

And to finish my day of relaxation I would pop a mushy movie on and sit with one more cup of tea and a donut…or three…

  • Lauren miller10 May, 2015 at 2:17 pm

I think I would just book a room at the sunny coast JUST FOR MYSELF for the night. I can smell the bubbles in the spa bath now from the bath bomb. It would be the ultimate pamper night. But the best part…I don’t have to get dressed, I can just wear the bath robe the whole time and order in! Answer the door with a face mask on, crank my music, and drink a HOT cup of tea in peace.

  • Holly11 May, 2015 at 12:51 pm

i have a 3 yo with separation issues, I desperately need some me time! I would lock myself in the bathroom with my headphones in listening to my music and not the wiggles!!!

We spent 7 hours in the car yesterday (mother’s day) and then I had to entertain my nearly two year old while my husband watched the footy. Granted, it was his 30th birthday and it was a pretty crummy drive but his misconception that as it was mother’s day I should WANT to play with my son was SO wrong. I would love to re-do mother’s day on another Sunday by pampering myself locked in the bathroom enjoying nice aromas (not smelly boys), drinking HOT tea and NOT sharing the donuts and also not feeling guilty if I ate more than two!

I have had a month worth of Tuesdays (and you know my relationship with Tuesdays…) I want, no NEED, to stuff myself with the entire dozen Krispy Kreme in a hot bath with accompanying wine and a LOCKED DOOR.

Hmmmm…. Eating of favourite things on the drive back from Brisbane – driving up and back for work is a regular event in this household. Know it well… With me it is savouring really, really good sushi. Drool…

Now… how would I use the products listed above? Give all the Krispy Kremes to the children and hand the children post consumption to the hubby.

Ideally an escape would be me and girlfriends (also escaping children and husbands), a cold winter weekend up the Bunyas, fireplaces, never getting out of bathrobe and pyjamas, some great chick flicks or overdosing on a TV series, good wine, eating truckloads of calorie free chocolate and salted caramel products (hey its a dream!), lots of HOT cups of tea and laughing loudly at the thought of the sugar fuelled demons and my husband back at home!

(The thought of him dealing with the sugar fuelled demons while I’m relaxing will bring so much more satisfaction and this may ALMOST make up for the weekends of being a soccer widow.)

I will make a deal with my hubby that i will give him 10 Krispy Kreme donuts if he takes out kids for a movie – then once they are out of home i will invite my bestie so that we can share one donut each and indulge in all the things while having our girly chat like our younger days.

Upon winning the above mentioned Mumma Bonanza, I shall promptly (and insistently) encourage my mini minions to remove themselves from the house. I need, nay DESERVE, some me-time. I will use the robe as a makeshift straight jacket for two, that attaches them to the fence (relax peeps – I’ll retrieve them when I need the wearable towel after my bath). I shall then run a hotter than necessary bath, in the hopes that that bath bomb does what I think it does, and unicorn-flavoured glitter snow falls softly upon me, restoring my youth after the initial explosion. I will (of course) be scoffing donuts with obligatory evil laughter while sipping vodka and cranberry juice (with a twist of some fancy exotic fruit) from my flash new tea cup, until I see that the light is not within me, but is an illumination from my flash new candle.

  • Sally11 May, 2015 at 8:47 pm

Ohhh Gayle… I would sneak into the bathroom with the teapot and some matches…quietly lock the door and pop the facemask and lipbalm on, pour a cup of tea, eat a donut, fizz the bath bomb, light the candle and climb on into the bubbles!! Once I am far too wrinkly… climb out, waffle robe and sleep mask on then an early night zzzzzz #sneaky #timeout

Mums are THE SNEAKIEST at eating treats! I can so see myself – middle of the day – in the gorgeous bathrobe, hiding in the corner of the kitchen with my back turned, pretending to wash dishes (because, clearly, no is going to step in to help with that!), gobbling down the secret donuts. Yes, SECRET donuts for mum!

I would get hubby to lock me in the study (with the cabin hook) with strict instructions that he won’t let me out until I have thoroughly and luxuriously indulged myself. Then I simply have no choice but to do as he says (for a change hehe)

I’d actually give it to my beautiful sister as a surprise.
She’s a single mum to two young girls, after fleeing an abusive relationship. She works full time to provide for the girls, and she never treats herself. So I would baby sit the girls for her, and she could have an afternoon off to indulge and unwind.
