Stuff I Did This Year

18 December, 2015

I had a very interesting year this year.  Possibly the hardest personally ever and you know what .. ?  I hope it bloody made me stronger cause something good must always come out of stuff so tricky!

So here it is .. stuff I did this year :

  1. Stared into space from my couch for a good couple of months.  Which is really weird because you can’t actually see space from my couch.
  2. Always began my day working in my pjs  and finished them hanging out with my kids achieving that work/life balance I wanted last year.
  3. Resuscitated 3 baby guinea pigs successfully and one not.
  4. Rediscovered meditation and relaxation music.  Boom-Tish.  No sleepy though.
  5. Skyped those dearest to me lots because they live far away.  Sometimes we did coffee and always ended in laughs.
  6. Took anti depressants/anxiety medication for the first time ever and realised I was wrong for all those years that I judged others for doing the same. How dare I think they were weak.
  7. Took part in a Business Women’s Retreat with the girls from Make It Look Easy.  I learnt as much as I laughed and smiled.  What fantastic women to work with.
  8. Started taking myself seriously.  (yes really)
  9. Offered psychotic readings to raise money for charity.  I didn’t make much money.
  10. Grew a chilli plant.
  11. Killed an array of other plants.
  12. Watched my children edge closer to my height.
  13. Watched a local wine maker make his champagne.
  14. Realised sometimes you have to fight hard to come out the other side of things.  Events, relationships and the grocery shopping.
  15. Decided that I love coffee in bed in the mornings.  So I do that always.
  16. Made no appointments for Mondays so I can kick my week off organised and at my desk.
  17. Mountain biked down a mountain virtually with a client on the phone.  Possibly not the most relaxing way to communicate.  Client has since been banned from making such calls when doing such activities.
  18. Felt absolutely without a doubt that I was losing my mind or experiencing early onset dementia.
  19. Took up running outside again and swallowed a bug.  Promptly returned to running on a treadmill indoors after.
  20. Started making crazy videos for my friends.  One ignited questions over my sanity.. But I was FINE.  I was just showing them how to cook brown rice  I then I burnt it.
  21. Realised stuff never stays the same no matter how much you cherish and nurture it.  So I got on with it and tried loving it anyway.
  22. Walked 49 laps for Relay For Life.  My goal was 50 and I honestly think I was ripped by the time keeper.
  23. Started wearing socks with my Birkenstocks.  Mainly cause it annoys the crap out of those around me.
  24. Decided it was time to branch out from MMM and start a new blog.  Something that will see me move out of the ‘mummy blogger’ niche that I utterly dislike and into a more challenging online environment.
  25. Created The Daily Recovery.  My new website that will launch in early 2016.  Join the Facebook page now for updates The Daily Recovery.

Oh, am excited to hear about the new website. I often avoid blogs about parenting stuff as I don’t have kids (and sometimes that’s a sore point for me) but equally cos I struggle to leave any useful / relevant comments etc…

I love your list of achievements and can relate to many of them!

Hope to meet in person soon!
